History of the German Kaeble Z6 heavy tractor
In 1933, the Kaelble company presented its first three-axle Kaelble tractor of the Z6R type.
The DRG (German State Railway) acquired a certain number of Z6R tractors allowing the transport of wagons, via suitable Culemeyer type trailers, by road. The Z6 tractor was produced in multiple variants, with higher power powertrains in order to meet customer demands.
From 1941, the Kaelble company saw its production of equipment mainly intended for the Wehrmacht and, secondarily, to the DRG and other private transport companies until the complete cessation of deliveries for the sole benefit of the Army. .
