History of the s.WS heavy artillery tractor

825 schwerer Wehrmachtschlepper were produced by Büssing NAG and Ringhoffer-Tatra between December 1943 and March 1945. The 13.5-tonne sWS was powered by a Maybach HL 42 TRKMS 6-cylinder 100 hp petrol engine. Top speed was 28 km/h. Range was 300 km.

Designed for use in the harshest conditions in the East, this semi-trailer arrived in units in early 1944. Its versatility and efficiency made it popular with users. Schwerer Wehrmachtschlepper means: Wehrmacht heavy tractor.
