History of the Renault B1 Bis 1939-45 heavy tank

The Char B1 is a heavy armored vehicle designed in France in the 1930s. Often misleadingly referred to as the Renault B1, Renault was only the largest producer. It took a long time to design and put into production, and by the time France entered the war in September 1939, very few B1s had been produced.

The B1 Bis version of this tank was a second production version with increased armor, 60 mm on the front and 55 mm on the sides, APX-4 turret, SA35 gun and 300 hp Renault engine.
This version was produced in 369 units.
