History of the Renault Sherpa Avitailleur truck

At the end of November 2011, Renault Trucks Défense won an invitation to tender from the Service des Essences des Armées to supply a multipurpose air transportable tactical tanker (CCPTA). Renault Trucks Défense responded with the Sherpa Medium.

The order comprises a firm tranche of 30 vehicles and a conditional tranche of 20 vehicles. A qualification phase will take place in 2012, and the first production trucks will be delivered to the customer in 2013. These refuelling trucks, equipped with a 5m3 tank, will ensure the supply of fuel to all types of aircraft, including UAVs, in rugged areas, thanks to the Sherpa Medium 6x6's high mobility. 

What's more, the vehicle's technical capabilities will enable it to be used in a variety of ways, adapting to different operational circumstances.
