History of the Brockway C666 truck Quick-way crane
The transition from 4x4 to 6x6 is mainly done to provide the crane with a base with increased performance due to the power developed by its mechanics, even if it is to the detriment of the speed of movement. The C-666 from Brockway Motor Company are virtually identical to the entire range, except for the wheelbase which here is 197 inches (+/- 500.38cm).
The theoretical maximum speed of the truck, crane and trailer is more or less 60 km/h. During 1945, when hostilities were practically over, an improvement kit for the 6x6 chassis appeared. It is made of a powder to be installed transversely in the middle of the rear tandem decks, in which two folding struts slide which increase the lateral stability of the assembly.
