History of the EBR Panhard FL11
The Engin Blindé de Reconnaissance (EBR) is a French armored vehicle in service in the French army between 1951 and 1985. The eight-wheeled Panhard 201 was designed in 1939 by Louis Delagarde to respond to the 1938 armored car program issued by the French army. This equipment was ordered in May 1940 but could not be produced after June 1940.
The Panhard 212 takes the enlarged base of the 2012 model.
The configuration of the machine is original: it is capable of traveling in both directions, with a symmetrical front/rear layout and the presence of two driving stations. The armored body is mounted on eight drive wheels, including four all-metal interior wheels that raise for road driving and lower in difficult terrain.
