History of the M13/41 Italian tank
The M 13/41 is the upgraded version of the M 13/40, the Italian army's battle tank of the Second World War. Built in 1,100 units, the M 13/41 had a 145 hp engine and was equipped with high-performance air filters for the North African theater of operations.
The 4-man crew was protected by - at most - 42 mm of armor. The main armament: a 47 mm rapid-fire cannon supplied with 104 rounds was complemented by three 8 mm Breda machine guns with 3,000 rounds of ammunition.
The M 13/41 served for two full years in the Italian army's campaigns in North Africa, Yugoslavia and Greece.
