History of the Laffly W15 TCC tank fighter
The Laffly W15T is a derivative of the Laffly S15T, from which it differs mechanically only by a few changes that allow the vehicle to be lowered without reducing ground clearance, but which totally change the vehicle's silhouette.
For similar performance, the W15 achieves a considerable reduction in dead weight (around 700 kg), thanks to its new, lowered body specially designed for 47mm service. Although it was the Laffly W15 that won the 47mm Mle.37 wheeled tractor competition, on September 2, 1939, Hotchkiss received its first order for 75 W15T tractors for 47mm AC.
