History of Panhard Hagglunds VHM Rang
The High Mobility Vehicle, or VHM, is the term used by the French army to designate the Bandvagn 210 Mk II, derived from the Bandvagn 206. It is a tracked, armored, articulated, amphibious and air-transportable vehicle designed and built by the Swedish company BAE Systems AB, formerly Hägglunds AB, a subsidiary of the British group BAE Systems, which has also sold it to the UK, the Netherlands and Sweden.
This vehicle can travel on snow, ice, soft ground (sand) or wet ground (swamp), making it particularly suited to extreme environments (polar, desert, swampy areas, mountains). The RANG version can carry 12 FELIN-equipped fighters, including 2 crewmen. The interior can be adapted to suit different combat groups: AT4CS, Eryx group, Milan group, TE group or 81 mm mortar group. It has a TOP 12.7 machine-gun turret, SITEL and PR4G.
